Chicago Arabesque Festival

Chicago Arabesque is a non-religious, non-political festival that will promote public awareness, understanding, and appreciation of the rich cultural heritage of the Arab World. Representing over twenty Arab countries, the fest seeks to introduce Americans to the rich diversity of the Arab World through workshops, calligraphy, artisan demonstrations, activity booths, Arab cuisine and a souq (bazaar). There will also be daily performances of Arab music and dance. Children will be able to enjoy storytellers, magicians and games.

We are very excited to invite you to the Chicago Soul Music Festival 2009. The 3-day outdoor music festival is set to take place June 26, 27 and 28th at Union Park-blocks away from the Oprah Winfrey's Studios-produced in cooperation with Alderman Burnett and the Mayor's Office of Special Events.
Recognized as a "Top 50 Fab Fests" 2009 by Chicago Tribune/RedEye Daily, and one of the more sought after events in the city; The Chicago Soul Music Festival will capture the essence of the City's musical history, to catapult Chicago as the destination for soul music along with it's rich traditions-both nationally and internationally.
This Festival will provide Chicago residents and it's visitors with high quality entertainment that features a concert series, upscale food vendors, artisans, fashion market, fashion shows, children's interactive area, and much more. The event will also showcase the city and surrounding neighborhood with increased traffic and visibility.

The Dew Tour, Nike 6.0 BMX Open

The Dew Tour, the world’s premiere season-long action sports tour, will be coming to Chicago for the first time in its five-year history for the Nike 6.0 BMX Open. It will be held in Grant Park, adjacent to the Taste of Chicago, on June 26th and 27th and will be a BMX-only stop of the Tour. The best BMX athletes in the world will compete in BMX Park, Vert, and Dirt disciplines, as well as a Nike 6.0 street specialty competition. In addition to the contests, the Dew Tour will feature a daily Festival Village with interactive events, athlete autograph signings, giveaways and the NERF Dart Tag World Championships.
